Renovation of Olafur Eliasson's '5 Dimensional Pavilion' in Holbæk Strandpark
Renovation of Olafur Eliasson’s famous pavilion from 1998, which was built on site in connection with the beach park’s 100th anniversary in 1998. It was inaugurated in 2000, and needed renovation in 2025. Fokdal Springvand has been responsible for the renovation with great care for the original form and material.
The Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson (b. 1867) created the 5-dimensional garden pavilion when Holbæk Municipality and the Danish Arts Foundation invited Olafur to create a sculptural interpretation of the natural spring that has been the park’s fountain since 1906. The artwork is made of braided flat steel and placed above the old spring, which flows to a round reflecting pool under the pavilion.
