Orla Lehmanns Vej

For Frederiksberg Municipality, we have built the first sound-controlled fountain in Denmark.

The green space at Finsensvej/Nordre Fasanvej and Orla Lehmanns Vej is a busy area. One of the central cycle routes passes through here, and the two major roads are heavily trafficked.

There is a small restaurant at the square that would like to have outdoor seating. To help with the noise from traffic, we developed a sound-controlled fountain hedge for Frederiksberg Municipality in 2009.

In 2015, the municipality succeeded in finding funding for the project via the R98 fund.

The water hedges consist of a total of 32 nozzles, which are illuminated from below. The water hedge can shoot up to a height of 1.3 meters when there is loud noise nearby – otherwise the water hedges are down to a height of 30 centimeters.

In total, the water flows around the fountain at up to 67 m3/h. The fountain uses recycled water and rainwater, which is cleaned with each circulation.
