Israel’s Place
The City of Copenhagen has long wanted to renovate the part of Israels Plads that is open space for schools, above the underground parking garage, towards Ørstedsparken.
In 2008, an invited team of consultants from SWECO Architects, with sculptor Professor Morten Stræde as artistic force, won the competition for the new square. In 2012, physical work on the square began.
Professor Morten Stræde approached us in 2008 to develop his idea for a stream with a waterfall in Ørstedsparken. We have advised and developed the project along the way, and have now built the water technology for the stream for the Municipality of Copenhagen.
The stream is 80 meters long, and the idea is that it will be fed exclusively by rainwater. For this purpose, a 40 m3 water tank has been built under the square.
There are 10 foam jets in the stream, which flow quite slowly, and have a total flow of 100-120 m3/h.
